This tour is mainly for people who are amateur hikers or beginners who don’t want to push their physical limits too far, but an adventure gets their blood pumping.

Day 1 | Trip from Tbilisi to Kazbegi

Kazbegi
A small village in north Georgia, surrounded by mountains. Here is located mount Kazbegi (Mkinvartsveri in Georgian) 5047 meters above sea level and Gergeti Trinity Church (Gergetis Sameba). Kazbegi and surrounding areas are the most popular directions for backpackers from all around the world for their high mountains and nature.



Trinity Church is a Georgian orthodox church built in the 14th century. It is located on the top of mountain - 2170 meters above sea level. It needs 1,5-2 hours of hiking to get there from Kazbegi. A magnificent panoramic view of the great Caucasus range, mount Kazbegi and Kazbegi area is opened from the Trinity Church.

To reach Khevsureti (Village Roshka) from Juta it is needed to cross Chaukhi pass, which is around 3200 meters above sea level. The pass route goes near to Abudelauri Lakes.
The Chaukhi range

There is located village Juta in 20 km north east from Kazbegi. Juta, together with Ushguli, (village in Svaneti region, Georgia) is the highest inhabited area in Europe (2200 meters above sea level).

Name of the gorge comes from the river “Sno”. Juta is the last point in the Sno gorge where it is possible for car to reach. Behind Juta lays the Chaukhi range. The range consists of around 20 summits, the highest point being about 3800 meters above sea level. Chaukhi range divides 3 historical parts of Georgia, Khevi (where Kazbegi is located).

The Abudelauri Lakes
These lakes are located in Khevsureti between the Chaukhi range and village Roshka. The Abudelauri Lakes contain 3 lakes called - White lake, Blue lake and Green lake. The names come from their colors. There are lots of fairy tales and legends connected with Abudelauri lakes in Georgian folklore. There is located village Roshka about 2 hours walk from lakes. Roshka is a first village from the Chaukhi range to main road in Khevsureti side.

Korsha and Barisakho are villages in Khevsureti. Barisakho is the biggest village in Khevsureti and it is an administrative center of this area. Both villages are located on the right bank of Aragvi river, in Aragvi gorge, surrounded by mountains and forest.

Day 5 | Tbilisi

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • Khevi (Kazbegi) and Khevsureti – are mountainous regions of Georgia. Members of hiking tour will be passing mostly Subalpine and Alpine zones, in some places you may come across snow and glaciers. Temperature in daytime is quite high, but in the evening and night temperature lowers.
  • During hiking, group members will cover at least 6-7 kilometers every day, in some cases maybe a bit more.
  • Your tour guides will be professional hikers.

The remaining amount has to be paid 20 days before the trip.
