Legal information
An official civil wedding ceremony abroad, during which a marriage certificate valid in your country is also issued, but it is additionally necessary to complete certain formalities (include the marriage registration in the accounting in Lithuania). For an official wedding, depending on the country, the documents must be translated into the language of that country, certified by a notary and sent to the representative office of that country 1-3 months in advance. before the wedding. Preparation of documents in Lithuania takes 1-2 weeks on average. All countries require a certificate of marital status issued by the civil registry office, birth certificates issued after 1991 (if they are older, they need to be changed), passport (must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of return)
