F.A.Q. about extreme trips to the Caucasus region and Georgia

The Caucasus Tour offers you the chance to choose from several ski resorts in Georgia: Gudauri, Bakuriani, Tetnuldi-Mestia, and Bakhmaro. These are favorites among our travelers and ourselves.

Gudauri is the largest ski resort in Georgia, attracting more skiers from around the world each year. Tetnuldi is not inferior in size to the rivals Gudauri in size but, due to its challenging location, offers more space, greater extremes, and fewer crowds.

Skiing in Georgia, in the Tetnuldi resort, Tetnuldi is for the brave, featuring off-piste skiing in unmarked areas.

While Bakuriani is not the biggest is not the largest, it offers a variety of options for everyone, from the smallest skier to the seasoned mountain and snow enthusiast.

Bakhmaro, another hard-to-reach ski resort in Georgia, near the Black Sea, receives a lot of fluffy and soft snow in winter due to its geographical position. This resort is perfect for freeride or off-piste skiing, and the number of skiers is very limited!

We invite everyone who wants to go skiing – both beginners and skiing experts. We offer professional mountain instructors for those who want to learn skiing or improve their skills. Georgian ski resorts have a wide variety of options – you will have the freedom to choose the steepness of the slopes and the complexity and length of the route.

Whether to bring ski equipment with you is up to your own discretion. Keep in mind that there is an additional cost to bring the equipment through flights. All ski resorts in Georgia have equipment rental points, so bringing your own is not necessary.

No additional equipment is required for other extreme trips. If needed, it will be provided during the trip.

Everyone chooses travel insurance individually and it is not included in the price, but it is mandatory when going on extreme and other travel programs.

Mountain jeep rides are conducted only by experienced drivers who will ensure your safety throughout the trip. Although these trips are extreme and the risk of accidents increases, we prioritize the safety of our travelers and take measures to ensure it throughout the journey. Additionally, choosing a ski trip inherently increases the risk of accidents based on your own behavior and experience.

You can purchase additional coverage through our partner Wizzair https://wizzair.com/en-gb/cheap-flights-to-georgia or any other airline operating flights to and from Georgia.

The tourism agency applies an additional fee of 160 EUR for solo travelers in a private room.

Most ski resorts in Georgia are easily accessible from the capital, Tbilisi. Gudauri is about a 2-hour drive from Tbilisi, and there are frequent shuttle services or private transfers available. Bakuriani is about 3 hours away by car or train, and Mestia requires a flight from Tbilisi or a longer car journey.

Skiing in Georgia is relatively affordable compared to many European ski destinations. Lift passes in Gudauri can range from $10 to $20 per day, depending on the season. Ski rentals cost around $10 to $15 per day, and lessons with an instructor are usually around $20 to $50 per hour.

Yes, Georgia is a great destination for beginner skiers. Bakuriani is especially known for its easy slopes and family-friendly environment. Gudauri also has beginner-friendly areas and offers ski schools with English-speaking instructors.
