The Caucasus Tour travel concept is based on the principles of eco-therapy

There is a profound influence of Nature on human mental, emotional and physical well-being. The ecosphere around us grows us, shapes us and has a huge impact on the quality of our lives (perception, feeling, analysis and visualization).

Our travel offers integration of the principles of the power of nature and humans and aims to meet the needs of all travelers, not only to explore but also to improve their cognitive skills and perception of life. Indicators of the quality of air, water, soil and winter, the amount of solar, wind, geothermal heat energy, and biological resources, collectively influence human health, and its proper balance raises the quality of life standards and the health indicators of an individual organism.

The Caucasus region is rich in unfathomable natural resources – living and inanimate natural resources and provides opportunities to improve the overall physical and mental state of the body.

According to the American Psychological Association (APA), eco therapy is flourishing, with increasing research supporting many potential health benefits.
But the idea of nature as a healer has been around for decades and generations. In India, the ancient and traditional system of Ayurvedic medicine relies on “natural” or nature-based methods (such as local, seasonal foods) to treat physical and mental ailments, notes the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH).
According to John Hopkins, traditional Chinese medicine is based on the belief that humans are interconnected with nature and are strongly influenced by its forces.

Scientists began investigating the effects of nature on human health in the 1970s when studies showed that views of nature were associated with positive feelings of friendliness, love and joy, according to a 2018 study in a review of research published in the journal Frontiers in Psychology. Since then, study after study has found similar mental health benefits of nature.

There is a good reason why these experiences in nature evoke such positive feelings. Science confirms what many people have known for centuries: there is a strong connection between mental and physical health and interaction with the natural world.

In addition, a new type of therapy called eco therapy, also known as nature therapy is emerging based on this principle to help people cope with mental stress and improve overall quality of life.
Eco therapy is a general term that includes nature-based activities and nature therapy programs designed to improve mental and physical health.

It’s important to note that there’s a difference between eco therapy and simply spending time in nature (although of course, you can still get mental health benefits from the latter).

How does ecotherapy or natural therapy work?

The principles of eco therapy are quite simple- “incorporating nature into some mental health or therapeutic practice,” says Derrick Sebree, Jr., Psy.D., a clinical psychologist specialising in eco psychology and multicultural identity counselling at the Michigan School of Psychology in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Eco therapy can also be practised indoors, observing nature through a window, and delving into the processes and actions of nature, such as plants, using metaphors or visualization techniques.

Nature therapy also includes techniques such as animal assistance, wilderness retreats, forest bathing, and horticultural therapy.
